About Us

History

The Bernina Sewing Centre has been an established business in Levin for over 30 years, in May 2010 “Cherry Pie Bernina Levin” opened in as a combination of the Bernina Levin Sewing Centre and the local Cherry Pie Quilt Patch Shop. The two stores combined into one new store and is located in the main street of Levin New Zealand, between the lights!

The new store owner Lynette Collis has been sewing since she was 5 years old and has experience in many fields of crafts. Her latest interest has been in the area of patchwork quilting. Her first sewing machine was a small hand wound bernette so it is ironic that she now owns a Bernina Sewing Centre and sells bernette sewing machines as well.

All the staff at the shop are experienced crafters and is is usual that if one is not sure of the answer to a question then another one is.

Diane, Cheryl, Pat and Lynette work in the store while Mandy works in the reapair and alteration room with assistance from all the staff as needed. Lynette does the majority of the teaching.

The store is a "cherry" place and a fun place to work and visit.

Friendly, helpful, honest service is highly valued in the store and the staff believe that together they have created an enviroment where this takes place.
Recently the store has added the award winning Emkay Bra Range to their stock as this is a locally made product that had no local outlet. This product has been made with the larger figure in mind but is availbale from size 10. The largest of cup sizes are catered for.
